SPGT Series Threading Inserts

This series is square positive rake indexable inserts specially designed for U-drilling fast drilling, with four independent usable cutting corners on a single insert, greatly boosting service life and lowering tool replacement cost. Equipped with central screw mounting hole, the insert can be tightly locked on TSD series indexable drill holders, featuring stable clamping structure and low vibration during high-feed drilling. Four complete cutting tips allow repeated indexing after one edge wears out, which effectively reduces machine downtime caused by frequent insert changes. The symmetrical square outline ensures consistent positioning precision every time the insert is rotated, delivering stable hole dimensional accuracy for batch drilling production.

The SPGT-QPM-OP1215 series covers four mainstream specifications: SPGT060204, SPGT07T308, SPGT110408 and SPGT140512, matching small, medium and large size U-drills for different hole diameters. Each model adopts standard corner radius of 0.4mm/0.8mm, with precisely ground cutting edges to guarantee uniform hole surface finish. The QPM dedicated drilling chip-breaker groove is pre-machined on the rake face, forming smooth and controllable chip curls during cutting. It is compatible with semi-finish and rough drilling of carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless steel, meeting diverse hole machining demands from small precision holes to large deep holes.

All cutting edges are processed with integrated negative hone chamfer, paired with thickened hard alloy substrate to strengthen edge rigidity. Compared with light-load drilling inserts, this series features outstanding anti-chipping and anti-shock performance, suitable for interrupted cut and heavy feed drilling conditions. The OP1215 PVD composite coating owns high temperature oxidation resistance and low friction coefficient, effectively reducing built-up edge on workpiece surface. Optimized chip flute design expands chip evacuation space, matching sufficient coolant flow channel to clear chips rapidly, avoiding chip jamming and insert abrasion in deep hole processing.
