WCMX Series Threading Inserts

WCMX is octagonal indexable insert dedicated to U-drilling. Each insert features 8 independent usable cutting corners, greatly extending single-piece service life and cutting down per-piece tool cost. Equipped with standard central screw mounting hole, it matches matched U-drill holders perfectly. The screw clamping structure delivers firm fixation without looseness or vibration under high-speed drilling. Once one cutting tip wears out, operators only need to rotate the insert to switch to a brand-new edge, minimizing machine downtime for frequent insert replacement and boosting mass production efficiency. Its symmetrical octagonal shape ensures stable positioning after each indexing, maintaining consistent hole dimensional accuracy for continuous batch drilling.

This series covers three mainstream specifications: WCMX040208FN, WCMX050308-T and WCMX080412-T, compatible with U-drills of small, medium and large diameters. Corner radii include 0.8mm and 1.2mm to meet different surface finish requirements. FN is a light-cut finishing chipbreaker with low cutting resistance, ideal for small holes and low-feed finishing. The T-type universal chipbreaker realizes controllable chip curling, suitable for rough and semi-finish drilling. All cutting edges are treated with negative hone chamfer, paired with thickened carbide substrate to strengthen edge rigidity. Compared with thin lightweight drilling inserts, this series achieves remarkable anti-chipping and shock resistance, applicable to interrupted cutting of castings and forgings as well as heavy-feed rough drilling. Optimized chip flute expands chip evacuation space, cooperating with internal coolant channels to discharge swarf rapidly and avoid scratch marks on hole walls caused by clogged chips. The low-friction coating effectively restrains built-up edge and guarantees steady inner surface finish.
