Drill Bit Maintenance

When drilling steel workpieces, ensure an adequate supply of coolant and use a metalworking fluid.

Good drill stem rigidity and minimal guide rail clearance enhance drilling precision and extend the service life of the drill bit.

Ensure that the contact surface between the magnetic base and the workpiece is flat and clean.

When drilling thin plates, the workpiece must be reinforced; when drilling large workpieces, ensure that the workpiece is securely stabilized.

Reduce the feed rate by one-third at both the beginning and the end of the drilling operation.

For materials that generate a large amount of fine dust during drilling-such as cast iron or cast copper-coolant is not required; instead, use compressed air to assist in chip evacuation.

Promptly remove any metal chips that become entangled around the drill body to ensure smooth chip evacuation.
